A GENUINE ETHICAL ELEPHANT SANCTUARY

We are a genuine ethical elephant sanctuary nestled in the hills of southern Phuket, home to eight beautiful elephants who are all rescued from the riding industry. We opened in December 2023, and we are pioneering ethical elephant tourism with the highest welfare standards. We offer visitors a unique opportunity to observe elephants as they roam, socialise, bathe and play in the forest. Our sanctuary is breathtaking and we keep our visitor groups small. You will have an incredible experience learning about and observing elephants at our reserve. We look forward to welcoming you into the magical world we have created for these magnificent endangered animals that we are dedicated to protecting.

• Our 'Feed the Elephants program is with the utmost respect for our elephants therefore we do not allow trunk hugging, elephant kisses, noise or crowds of people surrounding our elephants
• After feeding, we follow our elephants through the forest to the ponds and muddy wallows where they bathe and play
• Our tours are peaceful, calm and slow, we do not rush. We go at the elephants pace

WE PUT OUR ELEPHANTS FIRST OUR NON BATHING APPROACH

We do not allow bathing with our elephants as it is stressful for the elephants, dangerous for guests, unhygienic, and unethical. if people are in the water or mud with the elephants, it also inhibits their natural behaviours. In the wild, elephants bathe in rivers, ponds, and muddy wallows. They need space to splash, submerge, and cover themselves in mud therefore bathing with elephants does not put the welfare of the elephants first, which is why we do not offer this activity at Hidden Forest.

Spend your entire morning or afternoon with our elephants including Dining With Elephants at our Forest Restaurant overlooking the ponds where the elephants bathe and play!

AN AMAZING WAY TO SPEND A RAINY DAY!

Elephants love playing in the warm tropical rain and the fresh mud that the rain creates. If there's a downpour don't stay in your hotel... come and visit us! It's magical in the forest with the elephants. We provide umbrellas and guarantee a wonderful day out!
